Diplo Magazine November

POLITICS!
Heres an image about Bush and Blair's objection to Iran having nuclear power factories-the article in Diplo talks about Iran's potential for renewable energy sources.
Just to explain the image a little because some folks have asked about it and have misread it a little, the composition is taken directly from Hokusai's screen print of Mt.Fuji, what Ive done is to re-draw the main elements and placed Blair, Bush and the president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a boat. Where they're sitting it can be interpretted (as I see it) in two ways: 1) With the gigantic lava like wave looming in front of them the three leaders are heading towards a potentially disastrous future, much like the topic of anything nuclear, current or otherwise. And also: 2) As leaders of their countries they have the potential and obligation to work together and deal with the heating situation; as literally interpretted they are sitting in the same boat (Yes quite naive and idealistic but I think the idea and the image work well together, therefore it delivers the message in its own way!). Also, looking at their seating arrangements you can see theres a comment on the relationships between the leaders, who's gettin on who's back, especially with Blair and Bush! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did drawing it! Please leave a comment on what you think of either the image or the topic!

I really like this one, makes me think of Japanese woodblock prints with an acid trip palette.
